1. Grab & Go meals

There are many countries, like Brazil, where the culture is to have breakfast with family or go out for lunch with coworkers for a hour or so.
And when you are in NYC, you will notice that people don't sit down to have breakfast or lunch if they are on working days. And even if you would like to have this kind of experience, you may have difficulties finding places to go.
On the other hand, there are a lot of cool places where you could get good food for a ok prices for salad, bagel, and coffee in less than 10 minutes.
2. Having drink(s) after work

If a new yorker asks you to have a drink after work., don't think it is rude if the person has one, literally drink only. There are a lot of people that “commute”, And this means they live outside manhattan and could take over 1 hour to get home.
So, it is usual to see bars very busy at 17:00/ 17:30 and then at 19:00 they are empty again ha ha
3. Going around the city - Get ready for a noisy traffic ha ha

I am from São Paulo, Brazil, where the traffic is very busy, So I was very surprised with the time you may get stuck in traffic if you are in a car... and how noisy the drivers are and how easy the drivers block the streets with their cars.
Think twice if you prefer to go around by car... you could rent a car, use apps such as uber or taxis, but to be really honest, I would only recommend you to take a car if you are planning to go somewhere outside the city or if it is late.
Subway or bus can take you anywhere in about 10 to 20 minutes in Manhattan, and the city is mostly flat, so it is also easy and very pleasant to explore by foot.
Check out through Google Maps, Citymapper apps how long it will take to reach your destination either by foot, metro or car before making any decisions.
4. Small talks: how to get it right

Small talks about the “seasons” - I think this is part of American culture. They refer to personal and professional plans by season, summer, fall, winter, spring!
So, be aware and don't bother, because even though your country may not follow north hemisphere season cycle they will remain using it...
5. Do you have a reservation?

In order to improve your experience during your stay, try as much as possible to plan specially dinners and special meals in advance and make your restaurant reservations.
You can easily make reservations through google maps app or, if you still not sure where you would like to go try finding some god options at
'OpenTable or Resy.
The reservation thing is so common that you can do even for the same day or for one hour later.
